The Rebel is set in
1920's Vietnam. It tells the story of a
Vietnamese agent of the French colonial
government who begins to doubt the work he is
being asked to do - especially when he falls in
love with the beautiful daughter of a resistance
leader.

The Rebel is as much a drama as it is an
action film, and is the first martial arts movie
completed entirely in Vietnam marking a new
level in filmmaking independence in that
country.
