Part 1: Part 2: |
Tell us about using SequencePublisher in your work.SequencePublisher’s scriptability allows us to find numerous shortcuts in our daily production. For example, we have a script that animators can activate with a button inside Maya to create an animation of their work, convert that animation to QuickTime, and send the QuickTime file to the film editing system. This ensures the latest shots are updated automatically. The whole process is scripted and executed by SequencePublisher. You also use SequencePublisher to create the Digital Dailies which thousands of visitors are viewing at your Web site.We use it as a conversion tool to automatically splice several shots together anytime someone updates a shot in a given sequence. SequencePublisher does this work overnight so that when our artists return in the morning, they can see the progress of all their shots via our intranet. The result is the Digital Dailies fans can see on our Web site. How do you feel about putting work-in-progress on display for the public? What has the response been? This was a difficult decision for us that ultimately paid off in ways we never imagined. There was trepidation in the beginning about having unfinished work out there for audiences to see, but the reward is that hundreds of thousands of fans regularly come to the site every month to see Delgo's progress. We've been told educators use this feature in classrooms and certainly based on the emails we receive from fans—and some cast members—it's quite a success. Thanks Warren. We wish you and the entire team at Fathom Studios great success and look forward to enjoying Delgo in the theatre.
Production work on Delgo will wrap in late 2004.
