IRIDAS Launches SpeedGrade OnSet 2010 with TCube Fig Support
Munich, April 7th 2010 … IRIDAS an industry leader in color correction and production workflow technologies, announced the launch of SpeedGrade OnSet 2010 at NAB this year. SpeedGrade OnSet enables filmmakers to easily communicate the visual design of their movie to all stakeholders in production and post.
The new version of IRIDAS’ industry-leading color previs application will be shown at the IRIDAS booth SL 7927 at NAB in Las Vegas, April 12-15, 2010.
SpeedGrade OnSet 2010 adds support for the Tcube Fig device for interactive color manipulation of HD-SDI signals. By connecting the Fig to a laptop running SpeedGrade OnSet, DPs and DITs can pull a reference image from the live HD-SDI feed into the application and then interactively design the intended look using the powerful SpeedGrade controls.
SpeedGrade OnSet automatically updates the 3D LUT in the Fig device. The color changes are reflected in the live HD signal, communicating the creative intent of the DP. Since the LUT is non-destructively applied, the production can record the unprocessed material to preserve optimum latitude for post while still watching the creatively graded material live on their monitors during the shoot.
“We are excited to be working with Tcube”, said Gary Meyer, Director of Business Development at IRIDAS. “The Fig is an innovative device that greatly facilitates creative decision making on set. Since the introduction of native .Look file support in the Fig last year, we have received frequent requests from our customers for more interactivity between both systems, which we have now delivered in the new product.”
“The combination of SpeedGrade OnSet and Fig offers improved productivity in a smoothly integrated workflow”, said Jean Philippe Laloux, Tcube business development manager. “We are excited about the collaboration of two industry leaders and are looking forward to taking the platform to the next level.”
In addition to interactive Tcube Fig support, SpeedGrade OnSet adds a new user interface based on the Merula display engine and updated file format support for RAW cameras, including the ARRI Alexa, RED M-X , Silicon Imaging SI-2K and SI-3D and WEISSCAM HS-2 RAW formats. Through CinemaDNG, SpeedGrade OnSet now also supports the Ikonoskop A-Cam DII camera.
SpeedGrade OnSet 2010 will be available in May 2010 for USD 750. SpeedGrade OnSet runs on Mac OS X and Windows. For more information, please visit www.iridas.com.

With the introduction of FrameCycler in 2001, IRIDAS redefined the way artists viewed digital footage. In 2002, IRIDAS introduced the first stereoscopic review tools for the post industry. In 2003, SpeedGrade, the first GPU-based color grading application, brought new levels of performance to color correction and a unified way to communicate color in production workflows. The introduction of RealTime RAW in 2007, brought instant playback and color correction to RAW camera pipelines. Today, IRIDAS aims to streamline production and post from on set to finishing, and helps make stereoscopic moviemaking an everyday reality.
