P+S TECHNIK and IRIDAS Partner to Provide Universal RAW Workflow Solution
The OneBox will be shown at NAB 2009
P+S TECHNIK and IRIDAS have teamed up to integrate a customized version of IRIDAS SpeedGrade OneBox software with a dedicated hardware platform to bridge on set and postproduction workflows. The new P+S TECHNIK OneBox Solution is specially designed to meet the requirements of digital cinematography today. The OneBox offers state-of-the-art technology for filmmakers, rental houses, production houses and digital labs to implement an efficient workflow for digital RAW cameras and digital film scanning devices. The OneBox provides a comprehensive set of color grading and finishing capabilities as well as functionality for data backup and full quality HD-SDI playout for dailies and tape-based workflows. The OneBox Solution will be introduced at the NAB 2009 exhibition in Las Vegas (April 20-23, 2009) and shown at the IRIDAS booth SL4728. The OneBox will be available through the ZGC distribution network in North and South America as well as P+S TECHNIK’s international resellers. ZGC sales representatives will be available at the P+S TECHNIK booth SU9924G.
RAW camera technology has already become an established acquisition choice for many production pipelines today; however the proprietary RAW file formats, like .siv (SI-2K), .wcr (WEISSCAM), .ari (ARRI), .cine (Vision Research) and .r3d (Red One) are not supported commonly in today’s postproduction environments. The OneBox’s universal RAW file format compatibility unifies the post path and enables the integration of the new camera formats into existing workflow pipelines – independent of the on-set environment and existing post facilities. Digital lab tasks such as providing dailies, back-up and quality control can be accomplished with the tools provided by the OneBox. Single or Dual Link SDI out together with RS422 Sony protocol support turns the OneBox into a digital deck. For working with HD-originated footage, the OneBox offers a toolset for primary and secondary color correction and timeline based EDL auto-conform.
The rugged design of the OneBox makes it both suitable for on location and postproduction work. On the movie set it can be used as a companion providing real-time results from the digital negatives. In the post facility it can act as a one-stop color grading and finishing station.
A smaller form-factor OneBox with an integrated full HD-Monitor will be available from Q4 2009.
