IRIDAS Brings RAW Workflow to HD Seminar in Dallas
Real-Time De-Bayering with FrameCycler and SpeedGrade
Los Angeles: November 20, 2007 … IRIDAS, the industry leader in RAW workflows for digital cinema, will participate in the annual HD Seminar, hosted by the Electric, Power & Light Company on November 30 in Dallas, Texas. The all-day event will include demonstrations with the Phantom high-speed camera from Vision Research in which unconverted RAW footage is played back with FrameCycler Professional and pre-graded with SpeedGrade OnSet. The result is a powerful new production solution for digital acquisition.
“RAW formats offer a much leaner, more efficient workflow,” said Steve Crouch, director of IRIDAS USA. “By providing real-time playback and grading of RAW files, the IRIDAS applications allow filmmakers to work with unaltered data which is one third the size of standard RGB files and retains the full latitude of the original image.”
Along with demonstrations, IRIDAS will present FrameCycler and SpeedGrade, and discuss the RAW workflow in detail at an afternoon session. The Annual HD Seminar runs from 8:00 a.m. into the evening on Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas. Participants can register for the event at www.fooddancefilms.tv, or by calling 214….

In 2003 IRIDAS introduced the first non-destructive color correction application. Today SpeedGrade and FrameCycler provide the critical links in an end-to-end pipeline for uncompressed content and color metadata. IRIDAS’ applications are used by filmmakers around the world and most major animation and postproduction houses. IRIDAS is an independent, privately held company headquartered in Munich, Germany.
