IRIDAS Presents SpeedGrade DI with DualStream
Stereoscopic Color Grading Demonstration at DGA Digital Day 2007
Munich: July 24, 2007 … IRIDAS, who introduced the first software solution for uncompressed stereoscopic playback in 2002, will demonstrate SpeedGrade DI with DualStream at the Directors’ Guild of America’s Digital Day 2007 on July 28 in Beverly Hills, California. SpeedGrade DI with DualStream offers filmmakers a real-time stereoscopic color grading and film finishing solution for HD, 2K and higher resolution content.
IRIDAS’ DualStream stereoscopic technology has been used in production work, scientific research, and presentation settings since 2002. In 2007 IRIDAS began to offer DualStream as an available option for of its real-time playback applications, including SpeedGrade DI. Visitors to Digital Day 2007 will be able to don stereo glasses and experience stereoscopic color grading in action.
“Our team has been using IRIDAS stereoscopic tools for years,” said David Kenneth, VFX Producer at I.E. Effects. “It was the best solution then and it still is now: a reliable playback system for our work – and for client review.” Footage from current I.E.Effects projects will be shown at Digital Day in the IRIDAS booth.
“Artists work with a lot more confidence when they can see their material the way the audience will see it,” said Steve Crouch, Director of IRIDAS USA. “That creates a much more efficient work environment: fewer surprises and better results in less time.”
Digital Day 2007 attendance is by invitation. The event takes place on Saturday, July 28, at the Directors Guild headquarters and screening rooms in Beverly Hills. The IRIDAS exhibit will be in the main lobby. IRIDAS’ DualStream stereoscopic module is available for all 2007 versions of FrameCycler as well as SpeedGrade HD and SpeedGrade DI. IRIDAS pioneered desktop film-resolution playback in 2001. Its FrameCycler products are now the industry standard for frame-based image review. In 2003 IRIDAS introduced the first non-destructive color correction application. Today SpeedGrade and FrameCycler provide the critical links in an end-to-end pipeline for uncompressed content and color metadata. IRIDAS’ applications are used by filmmakers around the world and most major animation and postproduction houses. IRIDAS is an independent, privately held company headquartered in Munich, Germany.
